The Singapore Slingers continue to gain momentum in the early goings of the 2018-2019 ABL Season, earning their fourth consecutive win.
The Slingers made quick work of the Wolf Warriors, getting the 99-77 victory Sunday at the OCBC Arena.
Jerran Young put up 27 points on a crisp 57 field goal percentage to go along with seven rebounds and four assists to lead Singapore. Xavier Alexander once again flirted with a triple-double with 12 points, nine rebounds, and 12 assists.
The home team also got a huge boost off the bench from Larry Liew. The ever-reliable shooting guard scored 18 points in 22 minutes of action.
For the Wolf Warriors, Eric Tisby tallied 23 points but
The Slingers got the jump on the Wolf Warriors right from the opening Salvo, outscoring them 25-14. The veteran squad never relented on their rookie opponent, unloading 58 points in the next two quarters. They established a lead as high as 31 points and gave no chance on the lowly Warriors.
Singapore shot 51 percent from the field and did most of its damage in the shaded area. The Slingers bullied the Warriors in the paint, 64-32. And just like in their previous outings, it was an all-around effort for the entire team. They registered 26 assists and got 30 points off the bench.
The Slingers hope to make it five in a row when they visit the Saigon Heat next Sunday, December 16. For the 0-7 Wolf Warriors, they’ll have another chance for win number one when they play the Heat this Thursday, December 13.
