The Singapore Slingers notched their fifth win of the season after defeating the CLS Knights Indonesia, 92-81, on Sunday night at the GOR CLS Kertajaya.

As the Slingers continue to find consistency in the young ABL season, unfortunately the same could not be said of the Knights who have now lost their sixth straight game.

Xavier Alexander once again showcased his versatility as he tallied 22 points, 7 rebounds, and 8 assists. He was aggressive all-game long, going to the line 20 times and converting it to 14 points.

But it was the hot-shooting of Ng Han Bin that set the tone of the Slingers. The knockdown shooter poured in 14 of his 22 points in the first quarter as the Slingers raced to a 35-21 lead after the opening quarter. Han Bin ended up with five three-pointers, while adding 6 rebounds.

The Slingers enjoyed a lead as high as 20 points before the home team woke up in the second half. The Knights started the third quarter on an 8-0 run. They finally took lead momentarily but couldn’t sustain it heading into the final frame.

In the end, the Slingers displayed their veteran poise and maturity to close out the win. They shot 47 percent from the field and forced 19 turnovers on their opponents.

Aside from Han Bin and Alexander, Chris Charles provided huge numbers of 18 points, 14 rebounds, and 3 blocks.

The Knights meanwhile had significant contributions from Mario Wuysang who put up 20 points and Brian Williams provided a double-double of 19 points and 15 rebounds. Sandy Kurniawan chipped in with 15 points, including three triples. Those weren’t enough however as the Knights have now stumbled to a 1-6 record. They will look to regroup as they will have to face Tanduay Alab Pilipinas in their next game.
