The Dragons’ season starts off beautifully as they were able to find a way to beat the highly-touted Taipei Fubon Braves in Taiwan.
Going into the game, there were questions about the Malaysia-based team as they were having difficulties cracking the postseason in the past three seasons. As soon as they hit the court, all signs of doubt were quickly replaced with renewed confidence. They went toe-to-toe with the Taipei Fubon Braves and found ways to keep the game within reach.
Braves team captain Lin Chih-Chieh paced the Braves with his 14 points and 4 assist outing. He was supported by the 23 points and 4 rebounds of OJ Mayo, who is steadily becoming a reliable player for the team.
The Taipei Fubon Braves were coming off a strong 95-91 win over Mikh McKinney and the Macau Black Bears but that game forced the Braves into the deep waters. People started to question whether the Braves had enough in the tank to play their first two games in a back-to-back situation.
Will Artino buoyed the Dragons on both ends of the court with his highly impressive 25 points and 20 rebounds statline.
The Dragons will play next in Thailand as they face the Mono Vampire on November 28 while the Taipei Fubon Braves will have a revenge game against the Macau Black Bears on November 29.
