The Indonesia Warriors announced today that they will be bringing back lightning fast point guard Jerick Cañada and versatile big man Christian Ronaldo “Dodo” Sitepu for the ASEAN Basketball League’s 2013 season.
Cañada played a big role for the Warriors coming off the bench last season and averaged 7.65 points and 3.8 assists per game. He is also known as a ruthless defender who averaged 1.5 steals per game. The 24 year-old point guard is expected to arrive in Jakarta at the end of the month. “I’m so happy to get back with Indonesia Warriors. I’m very excited and can’t wait to practice with the team.”
Dodo joined the Warriors at the end of the regular season in 2012 from Satria Muda Britama and was part of the Warriors team that won the ABL Championship. In the 2013 season however, Dodo will be included in the Warriors squad from the start of the season while Warriors’ captain Rony Gunawan will be bringing his experience to Satria Muda, who will compete in the Indonesian National Basketball League which begins this month.
At 6’8″, the 26 year-old forward is the perfect size to play the small forward and power forward positions as he also has the ability to knock down 3-point shots. Dodo is a terrific athlete with an appetite for hard work, Dodo has the tools to go against the import players. “I feel challenged to play basketball at a higher level. It’s good for my career and development as a basketball player.” Dodo said regarding his instatement into the Warriors squad.
