The Westports Malaysia Dragons and CLS Knights Indonesia battle for the first time this season on Sunday at the MABA Stadium in Kuala Lumpur.

The Knights are coming off a victory over the Formosa Dreamers to end their eight-game skid. In a 105-74 blowout, Shane Edwards powered the Knights with 24 points and 15 rebounds.

The Knights also got a huge lift from their locals. Biboy Enguio’s 16 points on four three-pointers earned him Local Player of the Week. Mario Wuysang also provided 15 points and 5 rebounds.

The Knights hope to build off their win by acquiring Filipino-American Keith Jensen to be their Heritage Import. Jensen is a 6-foot-4 forward who last played in the Philippine Basketball Association.

The Dragons on the other hand have suffered three straight losses heading into Sunday’s matchup. Their last defeat was particularly crushing as they lost 90-89 in double overtime against their rivals, Singapore Slingers.

Kuek Tian Yuan had a huge game of 21 points and 15 rebounds and Joshua Munzon added 20 points and 10 assists.

The Dragons however sorely missed the contributions of their two World Imports. Marcus Marshall, who left the game early with an injury, had 13 points on a woeful 4-for-22 shooting and AJ West had a quiet game of 11 points and 8 rebounds.

Can the Knights make it two wins in a row or will the Dragons defend their home court?
