The Singapore Slingers will be gunning for their third straight win and chance to move past the .500 mark when they go up against the visiting Mono Vampire Basketball Club on Friday at the OCBC Arena.

The Slingers, who own a 5-5 record, are coming off back-to-back wins over Tanduay Alab Pilipinas and CLS Knights Indonesia. Xavier Alexander led the Slingers with 22 points, 7 rebounds, and 8 assists in Singapore’s 92-81 win over the Knights.

Aside from Alexander’s performance, Ng Han Bin had a breakout game as he scored 14 of his 22 points in the opening quarter, setting the tone for the Slingers. The Singapore sniper knocked down five three-pointers.

The Mono Vampire Basketball Club meanwhile are hoping to bounce back from their disheartening 114-87 loss against Tanduay Alab Pilipinas. They entered the game averaging 104.5 points per contest – a sign of their offensive efficiency. However, thanks to Alab’s tremendous defense, Mono was hampered 17 points below their average.

Mono Vampire was led by World Import Mike Singletary’s 24 points on 7-for-22 shooting. The Thailand team mightily struggled from the field, shooting only 36 percent, including 5-for-29 from downtown.

The last time the Slingers and Mono met was December 6, 2017, at Stadium 29 in Bangkok. In that game, the home team overwhelmed the visitors, 90-78.

The Slingers will be looking to avenge that early season loss, but more importantly, hope to continue their winning streak.
