At fifth place in the standings and owning a 7-7 record, the Singapore Slingers are looking for consistency in their up-and-down season. Coming from a loss, they are eager to bounce back against the visiting Formosa Dreamers on Sunday at the OCBC Arena.
They hope to regain their footing and make a push towards the semifinals as they are in the midst of a five-game home stand. Things didn’t start out as planned after they were dealt an 82-69 defeat by San Miguel Alab Pilipinas last Sunday.
Even though Xavier Alexander scored a team-high 32 points, he lacked support from his teammates. As a team, Singapore only shot 25 percent from beyond the arc Their offense was also hampered by their 16 turnovers.
As the Slingers look for consistency, the Formosa Dreamers are in search of a way to finally stop their 10-game losing streak. The Taiwan team is currently 0-6 at home and 1-6 on the road.
The Dreamers will have a new World Import when they take on the Slingers. Erron Maxey, who produced 34 points and 15 rebounds in a loss against Chong Son Kung Fu, has been replaced by Cameron Dakota Forte.
Despite the quick change of imports, Ronnie Aguilar has been providing steady numbers for the Dreamers. Through five games, he is averaging 18.4 pints, 13.8 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks. It will be interesting to see how new import Forte will work with Aguilar. Have the Dreamers finally found the right player they are looking for?
The Slingers are going to strive to earn their eighth win of the season while the Dreamers are simply hoping to finally stop the losing.
