For the third time this ABL season, the Mono Vampire Basketball Club will face the Westports Malaysia Dragons as both teams with try to get take the lead in their head-to-head matchup.

In their first meeting this season, these two teams gave the fans an instant classic with the Dragons scoring a 116-112 overtime road victory powered by Marcus Marshall’s 60 points. But Mono Vampire would return the favor in their next game as the won an easy 107-90 victory in Kuala Lumpur.

Their third meeting should be unlike their first two as both teams have welcomed new players into their squad.

Mono Vampire replaced former World Import MVP Reggie Johnson and are now parading the 7-foot-4 Sam Deguera who had a decent performance in his ABL debut against the Formosa Dreamers with 22 points, 8 rebounds, 3 blocks. Not stopping there, they have also replaced sharpshooting Patrick Sanders with Michael Singletary, who has played with the team for most of 2017.

Heading into the game against the Dragons, Jason Brickman and Chitchai Ananti are brimming with confidence as they played very well against Formosa, too. Brickman only took 6 shots in the game but dominated with 16 assists while Ananti carried the bench production with 21 points.

Westports Malaysia welcomed 2018 by adding two players who will surely be thorns on the side of Mono Vampire in World Import AJ West and their returning Heritage Import Joshua Munzon.

Although the Dragons lost their last game against Tanduay Alab Pilipinas, the two provided their squad with solid numbers and their performance should only get better as they jell better with their teammates.
