The Macau Black Bears and San Miguel Alab Pilipinas will look to keep its respective winning streaks alive as they go head to head in ABL action at the N8 UM Sports Complex University of Macau, Macau.
Both teams are sporting identical three game winning streaks, with the Black Bears (10-7) looking to finish their homestand with another victory. They’re fresh off of an impressive blowout win against the Wolf Warriors, and are looking to pick up their first victory against the defending champions.
The Black Bears were hardly challenged in their win against the Wolf Warriors, as they picked up the 34 point win, 99-65. Key for Macau’s win was their impressive three point shooting, as they made 14 triple compared to only six for Zhuhai. They also got out in transition and left their opponents in the dust with 19 fastbreak points compared to only 2 for the Wolf Warriors.
The Wolf Warriors simply had no answer for a red hot Mikh McKinney, who scored 19 of his 28 points in the first half and set the tone for what would be a blowout win. From then on, McKinney was content to be in cruise control with a total of 28 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists, as the Black Bears seized the impressive victory.
Alab Pilipinas (16-3) on the other hand continue to roll, as they smacked Mono Vampire in their last victory. The combined might of PJ Ramos and Renaldo Balkman were more than enough to seize the victory.
With no Romeo Travis in the fold, Mono Vampire simply had no answer for Alab Pilipinas running away with the 78-59 victory. In another Finals rematch, defense was the name of the game, as Alab held their opponents to a frigid 32% shooting game. They also beasted in the paint behind Ramos and Balkman, outscoring Mono Vampire 52-22 in the shaded area.
The big man of Alab dominated the middle, with another gaudy double-double of 16 poinrs and 19 rebounds. Ramos was also able to orchestrate the offense effectively, as he notched 7 assists in helping Alab pick up its 3rd straight win.
