Hong Kong Eastern go for their fourth straight win as they host the Singapore Slingers on Wednesday at the Southorn Stadium in Wan Chai, Hong Kong.
After somewhat a rough start, it seems that Eastern have found their groove, nabbing three consecutive victories. They now own a 6-4 record, currently sixth in the league.
Marcus Elliott had a game-high 26 points, as well as eight rebounds, four assists, and three steals in an 89-78 victory over the Westports Malaysia Dragons last Sunday. The Slingers are also running high after getting a huge road victory on Sunday at the expense of the Formosa Dreamers. Singapore is sitting at the fourth position with a 6-3 record.
Jerran Young was all over the court as he finished with a near triple-double of 27 points, 11 rebounds, and 8 assists in Singapore’s 88-80 win. The fiery guard was relentless in attacking the basket, going 11-for-11 from the free throw line.
Young remains a consistent threat offensively and he provides an additional ball handler and playmaker for the Slingers. Aside from the offense, it’s the defense of Young that makes him valuable. He currently leads the league in steals with 2.7 a game. It’ll be interesting to see if Young gets the opportunity to try and lock down the ever-explosive Elliott.
Hong Kong looks to continue its winning strike while Singapore will want nothing more than to get another road win
