Hong Kong Eastern and Formosa Dreamers go head to head inside the Southorn Stadium, as both squads are eager to put their recent struggles behind them.
Hong Kong Eastern took care of business in an impressive victory over the Macau Black Bears to end their two game losing skid. With an 8-6 card, they’re on the fringes of the playoffs, but have to fend off several teams that are beginning to ascend upwards in the standings.
The Dreamers have also suffered through hard times as of late, winning only two of their past five games. Currently at 4th place with an 8-4 card, injuries and inconsistency have hounded Formosa in this dry spell. Will they be able to put things together and stop Hong Kong from winning on their home floor?
The Dreamers were caught in the crossfire once again of another hot shooting game from the BTN CLS Knights. The Dreamers were unable to make things uncomfortable for their opponent, as the Knights racked up 29 assists and had 17 fastbreak points in the 99-73 victory.
Malcolm Miller has been a steadying presence for the Dreamers all season long, but even he couldn’t stop the bleeding for his team. Playing out of position due to the absence of Will Artino, Miller struggled but was still able to finish with a double-double of 14 points and 10 rebounds. But the Dreamers will definitely need more from him.
Using a monstrous 25-3 fourth quarter run, Hong Kong overwhelmed the Macau Black Bears to send them to their third straight loss, 114-90. Hong Kong relied on their trio of world imports in Sam Deguara, O’Darien Bassett and Marcus Elliott to lead the way to the win. Hong Kong’s main advantage came in the paint, where they outscored the Black Bears 58-22.
The towering titan of Hong Kong Sam Deguara absolutely overpowered the frontcourt of the Black Bears. He was unstoppable in the fourth quarter, getting dunk afte rdunk to suck the life out his opoonents en route to a monster 33 points and 17 rebounds.
The Black Bears are in the midst of their toughest stretch this season, while Hong Kong is aiming to put together two wins in a row. Tune in to witness which squad will come out on top!
