The Formosa Dreamers and Hong Kong Eastern lock horns for the fourth and final time in the regular season this Saturday at the Changhua County Stadium, Changhua City in Taiwan.
The Dreamers have had Eastern’s number all season long, owning the season series matchup at 3-0.
The 11-6 Dreamers are currently in second place in the team standings, right behind San Miguel Alab Pilipinas. They’re coming off a win over the Westports Malaysia Dragons where the trio of Tevin Glass, Malcolm Miller, and Will Artino delivered once more. All three World Imports filled the stat sheet led by Glass who had a 28-point outburst in the 82-76 win over the Dragons. It was his second-best scoring performance since scoring 43 points earlier this season. The ever-reliable scorer is putting up 18.9 points and pulling down 9.5 rebounds per contest. Glass and the rest of the Dreamers will have their work cut out for them when they host Eastern.
Hong Kong has a 12-10 record and recently came from a disappointing 20-point loss against the Macau Black Bears. Despite the defeat, Michael Holyfield proved once again that he can put up gaudy numbers. After a 19-point, 20-rebound in his debut, he had 25 points and 18 boards for an encore. He is a force in the paint while complimenting the games of Marcus Elliott and Sam Deguara.
Size might be the difference-maker in the game between Eastern and the Dreamer. Hong Kong now has its one-two punch of Deguara and Holyfield and they’ll surely make life difficult for the Formosa frontcourt. Artino will have his hands full against Deguara, but the Formosa center can counter on the offensive end and put up his usual dose of 20 points per game.
The Dreamers are looking for a season series sweep while Eastern will be eager to finally get a win in Taiwan.
