Two teams coming off spectacular performances lock horns this Sunday in Surabaya, Indonesia.
The red hot CLS Knights Indonesia hope to carry their magic from three nights ago, when they hit a record 22 3-pointers, as they take on the visiting Formosa Dreamers.
The Knights overwhelmed a shell-shocked Macau Bears as they unloaded one 3-pointer after another en route to a dominating 105-78 win to improve to a 4-7 record. The 22 made triples are the most by any team in ABL history, erasing the previous record of 19 shared by both the Dreamers and Black Bears.
Maxie Esho led the charge with 25 points, 11 rebounds, and was one of four Knights with five 3-pointers as Brandon Jawato, Sandy Kurniawan, and Wong Wei Long all found their range. Douglas Herring was the Knights’ instigator on offense, collecting 19 assists, a new passing record by a World Import, and two dimes shy of tying Jason Brickman’s achievement of 21 assists.
The Dreamers meanwhile are coming off a magical night themselves as they stunned San Miguel Alab Pilipinas in their last game courtesy of a Lee Hsueh Lin game-winner. Lee drilled a go-ahead triple with one second left to propel the Dreamers past the defending champions, 73-72. The Taiwanese veteran came into the ball game averaging just 1.7 points but delivered when it mattered most. He scored five points in the final 30 seconds to help his team topple the Philippines. With the victory, Formosa now holds an 8-4 record in the standings.
Can the Knights shoot the lights out once again or do the Dreamers get the road win?
