Chong Son Kung Fu looks to continue their red hot winning home stand as they tangle with the defending champions Hong Kong Eastern Basketball Team in the Nanhai Gymnasium. Battle begins 7:30 PM local time.

Chong Son delivered only the third loss of the season to Hong Kong Eastern, and are looking to grab their fourth straight win and stay undefeated at home. The squad looked impressive in their three games, defeating the top three teams in the ABL to ascend to second place in the standings.

Their latest victim was San Miguel Alab Pilipinas, who fell prey to Chong Son’s impeccable shooting and ball movement. They broke open the game in the third quarter, outscoring Alab Pilipinas 27-14 to cruise to the 92-79 victory.

Behind Chong Son’s stellar play has been Heritage Import Mikh McKinney. The reigning ABL Heritage Player of the Week has been absolutely on fire as of late. McKinney poured it on versus San Miguel Alab Pilipinas, notching six triples on a torrid 60% shooting clip en route to 26 points, 6 rebounds and 10 assists. McKinney has been one of the best barometers of success for his squad: When he shoots well, great things happen.

Hong Kong Eastern on the other hand is eager to atone for their 94-85 loss last week to Chong Son Kung Fu. Their winning ways were snapped by Mikh McKinney and Justin Howard, and their frustration was evident as Marcus Elliott fouled out in the contest.

Marcus Elliott will be looking for revenge against Chong Son Kung Fu, as his evening ended premature due to fouling out in the third period. But before that, Elliott was unstoppable, tallying 24 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists.

In their match last week, Hong Kong Eastern was unable to stop the surge of Chong Son Kung Fu in the second half. And without Elliott in the fourth period, they were unable to weather the storm, resulting in their third loss of the season. Though they are still comfortable at the number one seed, they should be eager to defeat a potential opponent in the playoffs to give them some positivity.

Chong Son Kung Fu’s surge has pushed them up to second place, and Hong Kong is determined to keep them there. Which squad will pick up the win in the battle of the top two teams in the ABL?
