The Mono Vampire Basketball Club scored their biggest win of the season against the Chong Son Kung Fu Basketball Club last week and now they’re out to prove that it was not a fluke.
Competing for the second straight week, the action shifts to China as the Mono Vampire aim to strengthen their bid for a top two spot.
Anchored on the brilliance of Michael Singletary who was named the ABL’s World Import Player of the Week because of his outstanding performance against Kung Fu, the Thailand based squad will be heading into the matchup oozing with confidence.
Singletary torched Kung Fu with 41 points, 19 rebounds, and 9 assists, overpowering every defender sent his way. Caelan Tiongson is in for another tough night defensively as he has been Kung Fu’s primary defender against the talented Singletary.
The two behemoths in the ABL will also renew their rivalry as Sam Deguara takes on Justin Howard again. The two have been posting very similar numbers with season with Deguara averaging 21.5 points and 14.1 rebounds while Howard norms 21.9 points and 14.5 rebounds per contest.
Two locals could also be a factor in this game as they were in their games last week. Darongpan Apiromvilaichai scored 10 points against Kung Fu while Luo Yongxuan notched 14 in their loss to the Singapore Slingers later in the week.
However, the key matchup in this game centers around their Heritage Imports in Mikh McKinney and Jason Brickman. The two have very different games with McKinney dominating contests with his scoring while Brickman does the same with his assists.
After suffering back-to-back defeats for the first time last week, Chong Son Kung Fu is raring to get back on their winning track and retake their old spot on top of the standings. But Mono Vampire is targeting the same spot and will definitely bring the same hunger they displayed in their last victory.
