The Fubon Braves have officially announced that they have signed 8-year NBA veteran O.J. Mayo for the upcoming ABL season.
Mayo was selected by the Minnesota Timberwolves as the #3 pick in the 2008 NBA Draft before being traded later that day to the Memphis Grizzlies. He also had stints with the Dallas Mavericks and the Milwaukee Bucks.
The 6’4″ guard put up averages of 13.8 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 2.9 assists throughout his eight seasons in the NBA. He last donned an NBA jersey in 2016.
Before signing with the Braves, O.J. Mayo suited up for the Dacin Tigers in Taiwan’s Super Basketball League (SBL) during the league’s 2018-2019 campaign. The American finished the season with averages of 22.6 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 4.3 assists.
The Fubon Braves will make their ABL debut on opening day as they host the Macau Black Bears on November 16.
