CHANG HUA – The Formosa Dreamers continue to stay active in the ABL off-season by announcing the signing of Jordan Bachynski for the upcoming 2018-2019 season.
The Dreamers also recently announced the signing of Erron Maxey and coaching change to Dean Murray in the past two weeks. The moves are in a hope for the team to improve on their woeful 1-19 record from their debut season where they finished dead last in 9th place.
Baychynski is well-known for his defense as he uses his 7’2″ frame to great advantage. The Canadian was a top-notch defender at Arizona State, which climaxed in a dominant senior year (2014) where he led the entire NCAA in blocks, was named to the PAC 12 All-Defensive First Team for a second straight season as well as the All-PAC 12 Second Team, and the PAC 12 Defensive Player of the Year.
Baychynski then played two seasons in the NBA G-League (then D-League) for the Westchester Knicks and continued to bank on his trademark defense. He was named to the All-D-League 3rd team and All-Defensive 1st team in 2016.
Most recently, Baychynski played in the B.League in Japan for the Nagoya Diamond Dolphins and Levanga Hokkaido.
Last season, the Formosa Dreamers also signed a 7-footer for the second half of the season in Ronnie Aguilar who ended up averaging 16.7 points, 11.9 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks per game.
