For the last 3 seasons, Marcus Elliott has been a terror for his opponents in the ABL. With Eastern across his chest, the American guard has reached almost every pinnacle there is in the ASEAN Basketball League.
Elliott first entered the league in 2016 as a World Import for the ABL’s newest team, Hong Kong Eastern. Marcus immediately put everyone on notice as he scored 28 points while shooting 64% from the field during his league debut. This was only a glimpse of what he could achieve in the ABL.
In the same season, Elliott was named World Import MVP while leading Eastern to a league-best record,16-4. Elliott and Eastern continued their dominating play as they swept the Saigon Heat to reach the 2017 Finals.
After falling to the Slingers in the first game of the series, Hong Kong Eastern claimed the next three games to win the 2017 title. Marcus Elliott finished with averages of 23.3 PPG, 5.8 RPG, and 7 APG to get the nod for Finals MVP.
Two years later, Marcus Elliott is still one of the league’s best players — leading Eastern to the Playoffs two more times and surpassing Chris Charles to become third in the ABL All-Time Scoring List.
