It only takes one critical run for Chang Thailand Slammers to outlast the Singapore Slingers 77 – 66 in a tightly contested game to earn their 5 game winning streak.


With the return of Chris Kuete, who plays his first game since 31st of October 2010 in an 81 – 87 loss to the Slingers, the Slammers start off slow and allowed the Slingers to earn the ground in Nimibutr National Stadium with a 15 – 8 lead in 2 minutes counting down of the first quarter. However, the Slammers were able to surge for a 6 – 0 run to end the quarter and avoid this game to be a blow-out-in-making.

Chang Thailand Slammers started to recapture their pride of the home court in the second quarter, led by Chris Kuete who scored 12 points in the quarter and almost single handedly match the whole Slingers squad. Slammers had a 22 – 15 advantage over the Slingers in the second quarter and claimed a 36 – 30 halftime lead.
Desmond Oh of the Singapore Slingers came out to play in the third quarter, scoring all his 9 points with aggressiveness to draw fouls despite only 1/8 from the field. He finished with 7/8 from the charity stripe. The Slammers sat Chris Kuete most of the time in third and Jason Dixon and Piyapong Piroon picked up slake to combine 15 of Slammers 18 thrid quarter points by contributing 8 and 7 respectively. Slingers narrow the gap 51 – 54 to end the third quarter.
The Slingers made the first basket of forth quarter to cut the lead within one point, but then were drought for the next 6 minutes. The Slammers went on to 13 – 0 run to their biggest lead of the game and never look back. The Slingers never came closer than 10 points thereafter and suffered for a 66 – 77 loss.
Jason Dixon once again proved his value by providing 22 points and 15 rebounds, Chris Kuete had a solid 20 points 8 rebounds for his return. Piyapong Piroon added 15 points.
Marcus Skinner netted 24 points and 9 rebounds for the Slingers, captain Kyle Jeffers had 15 points 11 rebounds. Leonidez Avenido added 11 points.
