Asi Taulava

The San Miguel Beermen have officially announced their signing of the legendary Asi Taulava. The 6'9'' big man was the 2003 Philippine Basketball Association's Most Valuable Player and he was also a 12-timeĀ All-Star.

"I'm super excited. I can't wait for the season to start. I would like to thank Boss Ramon S. Ang, Boss Noli Eala and Team Manager Rico Meneses for allowing me to be a part of their team," said the 39 year old PBA veteran.

According to reports, Taulava also drew interest from other teams in the ABL and also from the Chinese Basketball Association but Asi couldn't pass up the offer from San Miguel because he wants to stay in Manila and spend more time with his Family.

Taulava will be coming into the league fresh off a stint with the Meralco Bolts. In his 13-years in the PBA, Taulava has averaged of 15.9 points and 11.7 rebounds per game.
