AnthonyAirAsia Philippine Patriots' Anthony Johnson had a great season, averaging 24.3 points and 7.7 rebounds per game. Johnson also wins the ASEAN Basktball League's Best Import Award after receiving the most votes from all the head coaches around the league. 

We caught up with Johnson to talk about his off-season and his interest of coming back to the ABL next season. 

You played a lot of basketball in Manila. Does Manila feel like your second home?

Yes I do look at Manila like my second home after been there year after year since 2007. It's a great place to be. 

What is your fond memory about playing with the Patriots?

With the Patriots, everyone was focus on one thing and work hard to win the championship. It was like family.

Can you talk about what keeps you busy after the ABL season?

After the ABL, the thing that keep me busy in my family. My little girl just turned one year old on August second. So that alone is a full time job.

Have you been following Team USA? Do you think they will win the gold in the Olympics?

I haven't really watching them because some of the statement that was made about them being better than the 1992 Dream Team. But I think they will win the gold medal.

Would you like to come back and play in the ABL again next season?

I would love to play again in the ABL next season. I didn't do what I needed to do this season due to a broken foot during the semi-final. I felt we should have won the championship. So I'm really looking forward to coming back next season to win it.
