The San Miguel Beermen have re-signed their starting point guard Chris Banchero, according to a tweet from San Miguel Corporation Director of Sports Noli Eala. “It’s official! Chris Banchero has renewed his contract with San Miguel Beermen. Chris will be one of the building blocks next season. Welcome Back Chris!” said Eala through his Twitter account.
Banchero was one of the elite point guards in the ABL last season. He played a big role for the Beermen last season by averaging 12.7 points and 6.6 assists per game in his 11 games with the Beermen. Eala expects nothing less for next season. “We are delighted to have Chris back with the team. He is a young and special talent who will be vital in our upcoming season,” said Eala.
Banchero scored a season-high 22 points against the Bangkok Cobras on April 28. But, Banchero’s best game came during the first game of the semi-final match-up against Westports Malaysia Dragons when he fills up the stat sheet with 18 points, 15 assists and 6 steals.
