The Mono Vampire Basketball Club are riding a three-game winning streak heading into their matchup against the Hong Kong Eastern Basketball Club on December 8 at Stadium 29 in Bangkok, Thailand.
After losing to the Westports Malaysia Dragons in double overtime during their season opener, Mono has racked up impressive victories in their next set of games. They first took care of the CLS Knights, avenged their loss against the Dragons, and most recently, they won over last season’s runners up, the Singapore Slingers.
In the 90-78 win over the Slingers, Reggie Johnson was dominant all-game long, putting up a huge 25-point, 16-rebound outing. Heritage Import Paul Zamar had another solid performance, finishing with 17 points, including 4 triples, as well as 4 rebounds and 3 assists. Meanwhile, Patrick Sanders added 13 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists.
Hoping to stop Mono’s streak are the Hong Kong Eastern Basketball Club.
Hong Kong improved to a 2-0 record following their gutsy 87-78 win over the CLS Knights. Trailing late in the fourth period, Christian Stanhardinger provided clutch baskets for his team. He also sank three free throws to tie the game and force overtime. He finished with 19 points. Tyler Lamb meanwhile led Hong Kong with 25 points, and 12 rebounds.
The defending champions are also looking for momentum as they will have to face the Slingers come Sunday in a clash between last season’s finalists.
Can Mono extend their winning streak to four games or will it be Hong Kong’s turn to notch three straight wins?
