Currently five wins behind the league-leading Hong Kong Eastern Basketball Team, the Chong Son Kung Fu Basketball Club are aiming for a big bounce back win against the Westports Malaysia Dragons at home to stay within striking distance of the defending champions and get a Top Two spot at the end of the elimination that will earn them a direct ticket to the ABL Semifinals.
Led by Anthony Tucker who’s a triple-double threat every game along with their automatic double-double guy in Justin Howard, Kung Fu is looking to bury the memory of suffering their first loss of the season at the hands of the Saigon Heat and take their frustrations out on the Dragons.
Tucker averages 23 points, 9.4 rebounds, and 8 assists per game as he is the guy who makes everything tick for their side. Howard, on the other end, constantly provides double-digits in points and rebounds for them with 23 and 15 per game.
These two World Imports are backed up by two prolific Heritage Imports in Caelan Tiongson, who played the best game of his young ABL career in their loss, and Mikh McKinney.
Westports Malaysia has two able World Imports too in the high-scoring Marcus Marshall and the hardworking AJ West but their big problem is that they will be playing this game without head coach Chis Thomas who will be serving out the first of his two-game suspension for a post-game altercation against the Heat in their last win.
The Dragons are hopeful that their Heritage Import Joshua Munzon (20.6 ppg, 7.8 rpg, 4 apg, 3 spg, 31 3FG%) will bounce back from a sub-par performance against Singapore in their last game. They will also be expecting some help from Kuek Tian Yuan and Ting Chun Hong who were outstanding for them against the Slingers.
