Hoping to climb out of the bottom of the standings, the Formosa Dreamers continue to shake up their roster.
The Dreamers have signed Erron Maxey to be their World Import, replacing Lenny Daniel. A three-year ABL veteran, Daniel averaged 18.0 points, 11.0 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks in the Dreamers’ first 12 games.
Maxey is a 6-foot-6 forward who will try to turn the Dreamers around. He last played for the Toowoomba Mountaineers of the Queensland Basketball League (QBL). In the 2016 QBL season, the American normed 26.6 points, 12.3 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 1.0 steals per game.
At 39-years-old, Maxey is a going on his 18th year as a pro. He played four years for Providence in the United States and went undrafted in the 2001 NBA Draft. Since then, he has played in a number of countries including Argentina, Australia, Finland, Mexico, Colombia, Uruguay, and more.
His career highlights include being a two-time champion in the National Basketball League of New Zealand, a sixth man award while playing for the National Basketball League in Australia, and most recently, being included in QBL’s All-League team in 2015.
Maxey will be coming in to try to improve the Dreamers’ dismal 1-11 record. The team from Taiwan is currently on a 9-game losing streak and they hope that the addition of Maxey will finally get them the win.
Maxey will make his debut this Sunday when the Dreamers take on the Chong Son Kung Fu Basketball Club on Saturday.
