Heat Signs Jordan Henriquez, Places Charles on Injured List

The Saigon Heat have officially placed Christien Charles on the Injured List while temporarily replacing him with Anthony Jordan-Luis Henriquez-Roberts (aka Jordan Henriquez).

Charles was one of the biggest signings in the off-season, primed to anchor a star-studded front court with Lenny Daniel for the Saigon Heat. However, the two-time ABL World Import MVP got injured before the season began and had to miss the first six games of the season.

Since making his debut for the Heat against Alab Pilipinas on January 27th, Charles had been averaging 12.8 points, 12.0 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks in four games. The Heat had a 2-2 record with Charles in the line up before placing him on the injury list.

Charles will be required to sit out the next 3 Saigon Heat games:

vs. Hong Kong Eastern Long Lions (February 18)
@ Westports Malaysia Dragons (February 24)
vs. Alab Pilipinas (February 26)

His temporary replacement will be the 27-year-old Henriquez.

The 6-foot-11 (2.11 m.) center graduated from Kansas State University and was named to the Big-12 All-Defensive Team in 2012. Since then, Henriquez has played professionally in the NBA D-League (Rio Grande Valley Vipers), Finland, Germany, Argentina, and Japan.

Henriquez had already been spotted court side at the Saigon Heat’s last home game against the Kaohsiung Truth and will be eligible to play in this Saturday’s game against the Hong Kong Eastern Long Lions.
