Surabaya (11/10) – CLS Knights Indonesia have officially revealed their new logo for their participation in the ASEAN Basketball League (ABL) season 2017-2018. That momentum was done on media day this afternoon at the GOR (Sports Stadium) Kertajaya, home of the CLS Knights Indonesia, falling on the same day as the National Heritage Novermber 10th.
Managing Partner CLS Knights Indonesia, Christopher Tanuwidjaja began the proceedings by unveiling the new logo and ceremonial thanksgiving ritual spoke in front of the local Surabaya media stating that this ceremony was also held in tribute to the nation’s heroes as Surabaya is also known as the city of heroes.
“The momentum of our new logo reveal falls on the National Heritage Day for a reason. We want the spirit and sacrifice of our fallen heroes in battle to be remembered as we follow to their example in spirit. This media day is also meant to bring us closer to our friends in the media, the journalists as well as our very own fans the CLS Knights Society. Last a prayer together so that we can perform to our best in our first season in the ABL” Christopher states.
The event was done in simple fashion with some members of the CLS Foundation in attendance, along with the full team of players and team officials. Christopher also sent a mild message to the team to “play with your hearts and make the fans proud”.
CLS Knight’s shooting guard, Shandy Febiansyakh Kurniawan, admits that he can’t wait to take the court come November 18th to face the Formosa Dreamers of Taiwan. Nicknamed “Keceng” by his close friends, he is very enthusiastic and hopes the people of Surabaya will come together and support their team at GOR Kertajaya Surabaya.
“I’m very excited because the level of the game is higher than in our own league. In the ABL, we will be facing different character of players, both local and imports. I’ve been following the ABL since Mario became MVP in his first season. My wish of the CLS Knights fans is their support in prayers and presence so that we can also give our best for the city of Surabaya and Indonesia.” comments Sandy who has a hobby of riding classic British motorcycles with his wife.
There is no doubt of the support from of the Knights Society as the sales of season tickets, VIP, and most of the other seats available are almost sold out on the very first day. The courtside seats were sold out within three hours from the opening of online sales to fans who desire to watch their beloved team at GOR Kertajaya. This clearly shows their loyalty to the teams as they head into the ABL.
“The courtside seats are sold out already and most of the VIP section as well, we hope that the other seats can be sold out soon as we near the first game. Thank you for the full support of the Knights Society as well as the basketball fans of Surabaya.” Christopher says.
